Job Role

 

Role Purpose

 Responsible for   the   safe,   accurate  loading  and   delivery  of   ambient  and temperature-controlled products from our Millenium Park online delivery hub, as well some larger electronic goods, to our customers addresses.

 

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

•  The safe and accurate loading and delivery of ambient and temperature-controlled products in and out of the

Society’s delivery van

•  The safe and accurate loading and delivery of electronic goods in and out of the Society’s delivery van
•  Temperature Control checking
•  Assisting in effectively planning deliveries using the technology provided, as well as using common sense and local Island knowledge, being prepared to adjust routes to avoid heavy traffic or road constructions, as needed
•  Delivery of customers’ orders whilst observing all legal and safety regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring products arrive in time at the correct temperature
•  Maintaining a friendly and professional approach, always remaining courteous and respectful of customers and

the Society’s privacy policy and procedures

•  Comfortable working independently using own initiative as well as being part of a larger team as a team player, and always with a customer centric focus
•  A flexible approach with a can-do attitude to getting the job done, adapting to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of our customers
•  Ensuring the society vehicles are fuelled, charged, clean, tidy, and ensuring all safety devices are checked and are

working correctly reporting any concerns to line managers as soon as practicable

•  To undertake all required training which will include (not exclusively); food safety, challenge 25, manual handling, GDPR, Health and Safety and customer service
•  The performance of any other duties required by Management in pursuance of a successful operation.

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

•  Full, clean, driving licence to include at least category B standard car licence
•  Strong knowledge and understanding of the island and routes
•  Familiarity with GPS devices would be an advantage
•  A polite and professional disposition with excellent customer service and communication skills
•  Flexible can-do attitude
•  Ability to work using own initiative as well as a strong team player
•  Previous driving experience would be an advantage
•  Experience of handling roll cages, crate and pallet movements would be an advantage

 

If you have less than five years residency status, you may be considered for full time roles. If you've lived more than five years on the island, you may apply for part time roles

EU settled status document will be required from those holding an EU passport

Bonus: Ability to work flexible working patterns as the role may include weekends
